DUTCH MINISTER TO VISIT N.Z.
MEETING WITH NEW SETTLERS
The Netherlands Minister of Social Affairs and Public Health (Mr J. G. Suurhoff), the first Dutch Cabinet Minister to visit New Zealand, will arrive in Christchurch on February 3. In the afternoon he will visit several Dtftch families and a factory where many Dutch workers are employed. An official dinner will be held for Mr Suurhoff in the evening, after which he will meet Dutch persons for an informal discussion on settling in
On the next day he will leave for Dunedin by ajr, returning to Christchurch on February 5. Mr Suurhoff will spend the weekend at Hanmer Springs, and on the way there will visit Dutch farm workers.
Mr Suurhoff will pay a short visit to Wellington, where he will meet a draft of new settlers which will arrive there from Holland at the same time by the Waterman. He will go to Rotorua and other parts of the North Island after he leaves Wellington. While on his tour of the Dominion. Mr Suurhoff will be accompanied by a iP of the Labour Department the immigration attache to the NetherJanqs Legation (Mr J. Roberts), and Mr C. A. Korndorffer, assistantattache.
