NEW MASS X-RAY UNIT
MANCHESTER STREET PREMISES
A new mass miniature X-ray unit will be opened by the Health Department in premises in Manchester street shortly. The premises are ready for occupation, but equipment belonging to the department which has been in use in the chest clinic in Armagh street has yet to be transferred to the new quarters. In' future the X-ray of employees in industry, members of the forces, and contacts with cases of tuberculosis will be carried out in Manchester' street, while the clinic in Armagh street will be concerned with the supervision of established cases of tuberculosis. This division of duties is m line- with the practice in other centres.
The medical superintendent of the Cashmere Sanatorium (Dr. I. C. Macintyre) said last evening that the installation of new equipment at the chest clinic was now almost completed, and the transfer of the department’s equipment would probably take place next month.
