MR HOLLAND SPEAKS TO WATERSIDERS

MIXED RECEPTION AT AUCKLAND MEETING (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November-?. The Prime Minister (Mr Holland) had a mixed reception when he addressed 1000 Auckland cargo workers for 45 minutes this afternoon. Many of his statements were greeted with cries of derision from a section of the workers. When he ended his address, some of the men clapped and others booed. Mingling with the workers were two unifonned policemen and several plain-clothes police, but their services were not required. However, at times the chairman had to appeal to the cargo workers for order. 'At question time, the Prime Minister was asked: “What’s happened to the quid, Sid?” He replied: “It’s had twins, and you’ve got both of them.”
