CHRISTMAS BOWLING TOURNAMENT
Sir,—The officials of the Christchurch Bowling Centre have not supplied you with the tacts regarding the rejection by the New Zealand Bowling Association of the application for a tournament during Christmas. The singles tournament last year was a separate tournament., held much later in the season. This also applies to the pairs. The Christmas tournament was always held during that week. Now the centre wants to hold all the events in one, which would naturally be In opposition to the Dominion tournament: but the centre officials omitted to inform you that they were warned (not once) to make application to the Dominion executive for permission, but held out until the very last, when the association’s rules were made apparent. Then only was permission sought and rightly rejected.—Yours, etc., x. BOWL FAN.
