Pride of Egypt, at standard weight-for-age, in the C. B. Fisher Plate (one mile and a half), states the Sydney "Daily Telegraph” turf writer, John Schofield. Pride of Egypt equalled the Australian record when he ran 10 furlongs in 2min IJsec to win the RosehiH Guineas. Cook, has been forced to relinquish the mount in Saturday’s race. He cannot make the colt’s weight-for-age weight of 7-fl. Instead, the Sydney lightweight, W. Camer, will ride the Derby winner. Rising Fast will have a new jockey because Jack Purtell has decided to ride Cromis for Mr E. A. Underwood. The choice of a rider for Rising Fast wiU probably rest R. Hutchinson and W. Cook. Rising Fast will carry 9-1 in the Fisher Plate because he is entitled to an allowance of 31b on the set scale as a gelding. The trainer, Ivan Tucker, made the amazing statement that “the Melbourne Cup has topped Rising Fast up—he is now at hi« real peak.”
