CHINA COAST AIR CLASH
TAIPEH, November 4. Chinese Nationalist and Communist planes clashed for the first time in their "pocket war” today, wheh waves of Nationalist light bombers pounded the Communistheld Toumen Island, off the southern coast of China’s Chekiang province, the Nationalist Air Force officially announced. Nationalist pilots returning from their missions reported that they had scored "excellent kills” during the raids. Toumen Island is near Yikiangshan Island, a strategic Nationalist base in the Tachen. group, about 150 miles north-west of Formosa.
