Trading gains exceeded Government stock remained firm in sales and quotations, and very few sellers were in evidence. Banking issues were inclined to be variable. New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative A and B preferences, which have not been active -l e ’ sound inquiry and sales at 13s 3d, and a parcel of the company’s 41 per cent, secured deposit stock, 1965, changed hands at £96 12s 6d, with buyers prepared to carry on at £97 ss, sellers holding for £9B ss. Wright, Stephenson paids rose sharply to business at 455, and the company’s contributings were 2s dearer in tradinj at 31s. The market closed with strong buying support for both these issues. Donaghy’s Rope dropped sharply to sales at 45s and further buyers at 445. Chain stores remained quiet on an unsteady market, with Woolworths, New Zealand, 6d cheaper at 21s 3d, cum dividend, in the only recorded sale. A feature of the day was the fairly heavy trading in Tasman contributings at the considerably enhanced price of 6s 6d, with buyers prepared to carry on at the same figure.
