The full skirt, buoyed out by stiffened net petticoats, is made up of narrow gores cut and stitched in a sunburst effect that rays out from the waist. An unusual rippled effect round the skirt is created by pleated sections left unstitched. Shirring at the V-neck line is a feature of the fitting bodice.
