Brian was returning to Christchurch from Lyttelton with a load of bananas when the accident

James Eli Cox, a brewery hand, of Christchurch (Mr Barter) was given judgment by consent against New Zealand Breweries, Ltd. (Mr G. H. Gould) m the sum of £434 3s and 6 guineas costs. Cox injured himself on March 28, 1953, when his feet gave way under him while he was pulling a hand truck and he fell on his back.
