Wool Values Down At Sydney
(Rec. 8 p.m.) SYDNEY, September 2. The market at the Sydney wool sales today closed with values a little more than 12 to 16 per cent, cheaper than at the closing of the Sydney sales in June.
It was the last day of the first series of the Australian 1954-55 season. Bidding today was widespread, with the exception of Japanese operators, whose limited orders' were filled yesterday. Britain«and the West European countries were major buyers. Crossbred prices included: good average crossbred combing fleece, light burr, 58’s, 82d; good average crossbred, 56’s, 75d; good average crossbred, 50’s, 70d; good average crossbred, 46 s. 64d.
