BUILDINGS SOLD FOR £32,700
FOUR LOTS OFFERED IN CHRISTCHURCH
HIGHEST INDIVIDUAL PRICE £10,2Q0
Four business properties, part of the estate of the late Mr A. J. White, brought £32,700 when they were sold at auction in Christchurch yesterday. The highest individual price was £10,200.
The first two properties offered are adjoining, and front on Tuam street. A two-storey building, with about 3300 square feet of floor space on a section of nine perches, was sold for £7500. The first bid was £5OOO, and this was advanced by increments of £250 and £lOO.
Thfere was keen competition for the adjoining property of 23 perches, with a building more than twice the size of the first. The starting price was £6OOO, and this was raised to £BOOO by bids of £250. Bids of £lOO increased the final price to £10,200. The other properties also adjoin each other, but are on the other side of the block in St. Asaph street. The first was sold after four bids of £250 had raised the price from £BOOO to £9OOO. Bidding for the second property started at £4500, and it was sold for £6OOO.
