DRAMA CIRCLE PRESENTS THREE PLAYS Three short plays were presented by the St. Saviour’s Drama Circle in St. Saviour’s Hall on Tuesday evening and last evening. A light comedy, “Beauty and. the Beast,’* was played by Douglas Collins, Bee Pomare, Joyce May, Anne Pascoe, Andrew Rafferty, and Patricia Prisk. In “The Cock, the Crock, and the Candle” the players were Gladys Prisk, Gavin Sneddon, Bruce Gilmore, Valmai Taylor, Douglas Collins, Louisa Tomson, Andrew Rafferty; Dorothea Baird, Bee Pomare, Shirley McLean, Joyce May, and Anne Pascoe. In “When the Old Cock Crows” the cast was Shirley McLean, Bruce Gilmore, Rona Loader, Donald Dailey, and Patricia Prisk. Weather Figures The rainfall at Lyttelton for August, recorded by Mr L. J. Toms, was 3.08 in, the fall for August last year being 3.48 in. The total rainfall for this year to August 31 was 15.75 in, compared with 23.38 in for the same period last year. The Highest temperature for August was 66 degrees and the lowest wss 31 degrees.
