This was the result of intensive coaching in Juptor schools, he said. At Paddington his as sports master was to provide the football the boys wished to play, and Rugby Union and Australian Rules football were also played. . , The touring team is matched against League players of a maximum age of 15 and weight of Bst 51b. This team was winner of its zone ip the recent Sydney League competition.Tand was beaten by only two points in the grand metropolitan final. .. . Games in Dunedin and Greymouth have been played, and matches will be played in Christchurch, Wellington, • New Plymouth, and Auckland. The team expects the hardest opposition at Auckland. The match against Canterbury wffl be played today. ■
CANTERBURY SCHOOLBOYS WIN
(From Our Own Rrporter) GREYMOUTH, Sept. 1. In the annual match for the Somes cup, played at Wingham Park yesterday afternon, in the 6st 74b grade, Canterbury Rugby League schoolboys’ representative side beat West Coast 20-0. In the under sst 101 b match for the Mundy trophy, Canterbury Rugby League representatives beat West Coast 12-0.

Injuries are delaying the selection of the New Zealand team to meet Australia in the third test at the Sports Ground next Saturday. . x Three of the team’s best players are being treated by a masseur for leg muscle injuries. They are Dennis Charlton, Allan Smith, and Ken OHey. The goalkeeper, Bert Hiddlestone, has a dislocated finger. Hiddlestone is the only regular goalkeeper in the team. His injury is unlikely to prevent him from playing. The manager, Mr J. Kershaw, and the assistant-manager, Mr W. Carruthers, hope to be able to select the test team tomorrow.
