COLLAPSE IN CHURCH

LOFT While working in ’%ie loft of the Baptist Church at the corner of Oxford terrace and Madras street yesterday morning, a plumber collapsed and died. He was: i.

Mr Harold Clarence Whitfield, aged about 60, married, of 99 Jeffreys road. Mr Whitfield, with two other men, was fixing gutters around the church. About 9 am. Mr Whitfield appeared to have a heart attack and a call was made for- the St John Ambulance. The ambulance men found that Mr Whitfield was dead. He was lowered to the ground in an alpine rescue jacket which took about half an hour. An inquest will be opened before the Coroner (Mr X. B. E. Taylor) this morals*
