RANFURLY SHIELD GATE RECEIPTS

A gross gate of £4673 was taken st Lancaster Park for the CanterburyWaikato Ranfurly Shield match last Saturday. This was announced by the president of the Canterbury Rugby Union (Mr W. C. Dailey) at a meeting of the management committee last evening. The Victory Park Board’s share of the gate (27$ per cent.) £1284. Wages paid totalled £165. TM union’s share will be £3224. Programmes for the game at 6d each were sold out. There were 15.6 W copies printed, 6000 more than for the game with South Canterbury. The union will order 9000 copies for the match with Taranaki on Saturday.
