Richardson’s Home To Be Preserved

Samuel Richardson, and the artist, Sir Edward BurneJones, which Is familiarly called the “Home of the British Novel,” has been saved from, demolition. The Ministry of Housing and Local Government ha* issued a preservation order after appeal* by th* Council for

British Archaeology and the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. The house will now be sold to a purchaser who has offered to restore it at his own expense and live in it. Richardson lived in the house for many years before 1754. Burne-Jones lived there for more than 30 years.
