CONFERENCE OF SURGEONS
A conference of the New Zealand section of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons will open at Christchurch on Wednesday evening and will continue until Friday evening. This is the third occasion that such a conference has been held in the Dominion. The first was held at Dunedin and the second at Auckland. It is hoped that in 1956 a conference of the whole college—lncluding members from Australia and New
Zealand—will be held at Christchurch. Among those who will attend, and the wives of some members, will be Professor R. Milnes Walker, of Bristol, Mr K. Pacey, Mr Edward Gibbs, Mr Randal Elliot, Mr and Mrs Roland O'Regan, Mr and Mrs Bruce Rennie, Mr Keith Bridge (secretary of the New Zealand committee of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons), and Mr Eardley Button one of the two New Zealand members of the committee for Australia and New Zealand, all of Wellington, Mr Stephen Barclay (Greymouth), Mr and Mrs W. Carswell. Mr A. Douglas (Palmerston North), Mr N. Speight, Mr Charles Greenslade and Mr Stanley Wilson (member of the committee for New Zealand and Australia),* all of Dunedin, Mr and -Mrs Gayin Scholefield (Lower Hutt), Mr and Mrs C. Halstead, Mr and Mrs G. Kingston, and Mr A. W. Sutherland (Timaru). Mr A. J. Mason (Ashburton), Mr D. C. Low (Nelson) and Mr and Mrs A. F. Marshall (Hastings). In addition more than 20 Christchurch members will attend the conference.
