AIRWAYS CLERICAL WORKERS

COURT GRANTS WAGE INCREASES

Increases ranging from £5 to £3O a year are granted to airways clerical employees in their first to tenth year of service, by a new award issued by the Court of Arbitration. Under the new award, male clerks may now receive £6BO a year in the thirteenth year of service. All increases are subject to the Court’s 10 per cent, general increase. ’ Some of the clauses relating to hours of work, broken hours, and shift work have been altered, and new clauses relating to the wages for both males and females after the tenth year of service for males and eighth year for females, are contained in the new award. The award embodies the terms of settlement arrived at by the assessors in Conciliation Council.
