Man Tries To Take Over Airliner

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SEATTLE (Washington), July 14. Edmund Andrew Marmur, aged 21, a farmer, shot at a stewardess while trying to commandeer an airliner today, but gave up meekly when police surrounded the plane. Police said Marmur told them that he wanted to force the pilot to fly him to the African jungle, because he always “wanted to live in the jungle.” Marmur armed with a .45-calibre pistol, said he sneaked aboard the airliner as it stood empty and unguarded at the Seattle airport. The stewardess. Miss Isabel Abraham, was the first person to approach the plane after Marmur went aboard. He need two shots at her, but she was not injured, and fled to summon airport police. * The police surroufided the plane and ordered Marmur to throw out his pistol and surrender. The pistol was thrown out and discharged once more as it hit the concrete. Then Marmur came out.
