Heat Wave Kills 80 Persons In U.S.
(NJH. Press Association —Copyright) NEW YORK, July 14. Deaths mounted today as the summer’s worst heat wave seared much of the southern and eastern portions of the United States. At least 80 deaths were attributed to the heat, 11 of them in Oklahoma, where the temperature has gone as high at 117.5 degrees in the last few days. St. Louis, sweltering in 107 degrees today, reported four deaths from the heat. lowa reported two deaths from the heat, and Illinois, Indiana and Texas, one each. Missouri, Kansas and the south-west were the hottest. At Union, Missouri, the temperature rose .to 116 degrees
