ARCHITECTURAL EXHIBITION

The Vertical Development Exhibition will be opened by His Worship the Mayor, R. M. Macfarlane, Esq., C.M.G., M.P., at 10 a.m. on Monday in Beath’s Lounge. Held under the auspices of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects, this exhibition is of vital interest to every Christchurch citizen who takes a pride in our city. It gives you a clear picture of what its future development will be, if we face our problems now. For a city, like a garden, does not grow into a thing of beauty by accident. Neither can it be run economically without careful and expert planning. Failure to accept this fact can only result in ever increasing taxes, and the ugliness of sprawling communities completely lacking in character.

See this exhibition and give your moral support to the town planners who would preserve the beauty of Christchurch, our treasured heritage, and show you how to provide the least expensive way, for our rapidly increasing population. The exhibition will be open until July 30, in Beath’s Lounge. Advt
