PARLIAMENTARY DAY
(From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 16. The House of Representatives spent all today discussing the Roxburgh hydro-electric scheme contract. The debate will be continued when the House resumes on Tuesday. Two bills were introduced today. One, the Workers’ Compensation Amendment Bill, is an amendment to a bil already before the House, and validates the action of the Workers’ Compensation Board in establishing rehabilitation clinics. The other measure, the National Historic Places Bill, provides for the preservation and maintenance of historic places, and is on the lines of a private bill sponsored last year by Mr D. M. Rae (Government, Parnell). The House adjourned at 4.30 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
