Historic Port of Registry .-—Although her port of registry is the historic little seaport of Biaeford, Devon, the overseas motor-ship Fresno City, now at Lytteltdn,. cannot enter that port. The Fresno City is of 7381 tons, and Bideford cannot accommodate ships of that size. Owned by the< ReardonSmith Line, the Fresno City was built by William Doxford and Sons, Sunderland, and was originally intended for service in the Pacific. She was first named Empire Singapore, and on being acquired by her present owners, the vessel was renamed Fresno City, after a city in California. The Fresno City. has discharged three buses for the Christchurch Transport Board. Also for discharge are a mobile crane, motor-cars, steelwork, and general cargo. The vessel is to sail next week for the Argentine, where she will load wheat for Britain.
