BOXING
ELLESMERE AMATEUR TOURNAMENT The Ellesmere Amateur Boxing Association staged an excellent tournament recently, but the attendance was only moderate. The judges were Messrs P. McFarlane, A. A. Peterson, and G. Logan, and the referee was Mr Eric Pocock, The trophy for the best, loser was awarded to G. Gloistien. Dr. Dougall received a gift for her services to the association. Results:— C. Hogg (7st 131 b) beat R. Tennant (7st 131 b); G. Lange (sst 71b) beat J. Harnett (sst 41b); J. Maunsell (9st 51b) beat A. Dawson (9st 21b); B. McDonald (sst 101 b) beat J. Crampton (6st 11b). F. Clark (Bst 81b) beat T. Mulcay (Bst 51b); R. Hicks (sst 31b) beat G. Smith (sst 21b); B. Edwards (Bst 51b) beat G. Gloistien (Bst 121 b); J. Ayson (list 61b) beat G. Brennan (list); R. Lusetti (7st) beat D. McCormick (6st 121 b); A. McClure (tot) beat M. Cartwright (tot 51b): C. Falloon (6st) lost to S. Beans (tet 51b); L. Gay (7st 121 b) beat B. Blackburn (7st 71b).
