JONES CUP MATCH TOMORROW CANTERBURY TO PLAY OTAGO The return match for the J. E. Jones Cup will be played at English Park between Canterbury and Otago tomorrow. The first game, played at Dunedin on June 5, was drawn, 2-all. Otago has made drastic changes In the forward line for this match, and southern critics regard it as an improvement. Tne goalkeeper, full-backs, and halves have all retained their places. M. Cross has replaced W. William* at outside right. He is a young player Who proved his worth in the recent Keach Cup match against Southland. G. Roddy, who was emergency against Canterbury and Southland, has replaced I. Walsh at inside right. He is a particularly attacking player who should, with. Berry, the centre forward, provide all the thrust needed down the centre. _ J. Warner has been moved from the left wing position to inside left, where he normally has played well in club games. A further change has been made at outside left where A. Patton, last year’s Otago and South Island representative, has been included. Canterbury has three changes in Saturday’s side. H. Langley, the goalkeeper, and Cullen and Kavanagh, the full-backs, teamed up well in Dunedin and deserved a further chance. Canterbury has a wealth of talent for the intermediate positions. The only change here has been the replacement of S. Rolph by C. 'Banham, the former New Zealand and Wellington right half. A. van Rooyen and K. Olley are out of the forward line and have been replaced by V. Smith, and P. Feenstra. Smith has shown fine form at centre forward this season, and it is to be hoped that he plays there on Saturday. Feenstra has represented the South Island and Canterbury, and by consistent 1 form this season deserves his place. The forward line is likely to turn out 1 in the following order:—D. Gentry, P. Feenstra, V. Smith, J. Saunderson, W. ’ Logan. The teams are:—
