FISH STOCKS IN LAKE LYNDON

INCREASE IN BAG LIMIT SOUGHT The fish stocks at Lake Lyndon, with special reference to the condition of fish, was fully discussed by the council of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society last evening. The council was considering a remit from the Malvern Acclimatisation Club asking that Lake Lyndon be opened on November 1, the same time as other back-country lakes. The recommendation of the fish committee that the remit be not approved because fish were still spawning in the lake at this time, was adopted. Later in the report, however, when considering bag limits for the next three years, it was decided to recommend to the Marine Department that the bag Jimit at Lake Lyndon be increased to 20, and the size limit reduced to lOin.
