TRAP SHOOTING

METHVEN BEATEN BY ELLESMERE

In a trap shooting teams’ match held on the Ellesmere Gun Club’s ground at Leeston, Ellesmere beat Methven Gun Club by five points. It is an annual competition. The teaYns were of 15 men aside, each man shooting at 15 clay birds. The scores were:—

Ellesmere.—W. H. Winchester 12, L. C. Lemon 13, R. G. Allan 11, C. C. Skinner 13, L. H. Greenwood 11, W. Quigley, jun. 12, E. G. Amyes 14, W. Winchester, jun. 14. J. F. Parkin 12. F. Alexander 14, A. A. Greenwood 13. W. L. Gabbie 13, G. M. Doyle 15, F. L. Graham 1/1, W. A. Anderson 13—total 194.

Only two men, T. D. Harrison (Methven) and G. M. Doyle (Ellesmere) scored possibles, and they divided first and second prizes. Shooters with t l4 on shared the rest of the money.

A 10-bird eye-opener sweep was won by the following witn all on: —E. J. Watson, H. A. Cromie, W. Winchester, jun., G. M. Doyle, F. L. Graham, D. Lilley, B. Lilley, S. G. Holmes, A. A. Greenwood, and N. Anderson.

In another 10-bird sweep the all ons who divided the stake were:—R. G. Allan, H. A. Cromie, J. F. Parkin, F. Alexander, S. G. Holmes, D. Dalton, E. Donald, and E. G. Amyes.

A double rise event at five pairs was won by D. Dalton, with nine breaks. With eight on. D. Lilley was second and the third money was shared by W. H. Winchester, F. Alexander, E. J. Watson, H. J. Harrison, S. G. Holmes, and G. M. Scott, with seven on.

A first-miss-out went to the eleventh round when E. J. Watson, H. A. Cromie, and W. H. Winchester divided.

The Ellesmere Club’s life membership badge was presented to Mr F. Alexander by the president of the club (Mr W. H. Winchester).
