NEW COURSE MAY BE USED NEXT YEAR (NJZ.P.A. —R enter—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, June 15. Hundreds of workmen toiled in brilliant sunshine this morning to get the old Royal Hunt Cup course ready for what win probably be its last day tomorrow on “Royal Ascot.” The new course, already looking spiel and span, is at the far side of the present i course, and when it comes into use it i will give the public a much better view ! of racing on tne straight course. It will: probably be used next year. Workmen en the old course today put ■ te the 1000 blue hydrangeas, which were i taken there in trucks, soon after sun- ' up. Sixty of the hydrangeas were used to decorate the front of the Royal box. and the rest to decorate the flower beds ’ ™ .5 U^ S B - Ue hydrangeas have been the flower for the Royal box every year since the war.
Among improvements visitors to the course will see this year is a new col- • lapstble semaphore board, most of which will drop underground while races are running. Race times recorded tomorrow by the new raaio timing system are not Ukeiy to be made public. The scheme is still in the experimental stage. This new mechanjs run on , a different system from tnat at Newmarket, where the startand the winning post are connected oy wire.
