NUFFIELD RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
AWARD TO DR. F. M. TODD ' (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 5. A former pupil of Wellington College and student of Victoria University, Dr. F. Murray Todd, who has been a lecturer at the Australian National University, Canberra, has become the first New Zealander to be awarded a Nuffield research fellowship in Australia. The fellowship is one of four awarded annually in Australia. Two are given in the field of medicine, one for social studies' and one for the humanities. Dr. Todd will go to Cambridge to study languages. He left New Zealand by fiying-boat today to return to Canberra after spending a week’s holiday with his parents, Mr and Mrs R. Todd, of Mount Victoria, Wellington. He and his wife, who has a ballet school in Canberra, will leave for England in July. After his studies in England, Dr. Todd will return to Canberra for a year.
