AIR TERMINAL AT HAREWOOD
Sir.—Your ‘ correspondents, A. E. Lyttle, “Tenner No. 2.” and “Gael,” are to be commended for their generous offer, even if they are offering a bribe. I hope that yet another 497 persons will rise to the occasion! Still since most cities are composed of “poor little men,” my original contention that Christchurch citizens subsidise the City Council pound for pound is still the best form of contribution. After all, our ultimate figure is at least £100,009, not a puny £5OOO. Let us make the public conscious of this figure! Why not call for public subscription and install a thermometer similar to that used for National Savings in the Square? Let me repeat that my pound is available the moment that such a scheme is started. Let speed be our motto. —Yours, etc., SUPREMA E SITUA. June 3, 1954.
