CASHMERE HIGH SCHOOL
TENDERS CALLED FOR CONSTRUCTION The Ministry of Works yesterday called tenders for the erection of the Cashmere High School The Christchurch Post-primary Schools’ Council, after several meetings with the Minister of Education (Mr R. M. Algie), was informed last Week by the Director of Education (Mr C. E. BeebV) that tenders could be called, subject to certain modifications in plans to be made by the department. Classrooms and workshops for about 500 pupils are included in the contract. Construction will be in reinforced concrete and timber. The plan on which discussions have been based was roughly in an E shape with another wing also extending off the back of the letter, and there was one block of two storeys. The tenders will close in Wellington on July 6.
