POTATO BOARD

MR HAYMAN NOT TO SEEK RE ELECTION (New Zealand Press Association) OAMARU, May 3. Mr T. L. Hayiqan, M.P. for Oamaru, will not be a candidate for re-election to the New Zealand potato Board when his term expires in September. Mr Hayman was the first chairman of the board and was previously a member of the Potato Advisory Committee set up by the Labour Government during the war. “The board is solidly established,” said Mr Hayman. “Difficulties and shortages have been overcome and sufficient confidence has now returned to the industry to ensure that the area planted in potatoes is sufficient to meet the Dominion’s requirements.”
