PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS’ TOURNAMENT

Forty-flwj competitors frc*n Christchurch, TMnaru, and Ashburton took part in a golf tournament conducted at Shirley recently by the Christchurch Public Accountants' Association. It is proposed to hold the tournament annually. G. Foote (Timaru) won on a countback from J. E. Barton (Christchurch), 1 down, in a bogey match for a cup given by Mr Denys Hoare. Other scores were:—W. G. Quirk, C. L. Sturge, M. C. Tipping, D. T. Ager, 2 down; W. A. Hadlee, I. M. Hamilton, 3 down; J. D. Lake, J. M. Hargreaves, E. G. Mitchell, G. W. A. Green, A. A.
