FORESTERS TO STUDY IN BRITAIN

GOVERNMENT AWARDS TWO BURSARIES (New Zealand Press -Association) WELLINGTON, March 24. Mr R. K. Usmar and Mr R. T. Fenton, officers of the State Forest Service, have been awarded Government bursaries for post-graduate studies in the United Kingdom. Mr Usmar is to go to Edinburgh, and Mr Fenton to Oxford. The Minister of Forests (Mr E. B. Corbett), who gave this information today, said that the granting of bursaries was an efficient and economic method of adding to the Forest Service’s staff of professionally trained foresters, who would be increasingly needed with the development of New Zealand’s exotic forests.
