FRIENDS OF NURSE MAUDE ASSOCIATION
The first meeting of the x year of The Friends of the Nurse Maude District Nursing Association was held last evening at the association’s convalescent home, Papanui road, where the president (Miss Cicely Pratt) presided. The honorary secretary (Miss L. M. Banks) said that the membership was now 50 and new members would be welcomed. It was decided that the friends should stock and staff a stall in Cathedral square on June 4, the day of the association’s annual street appeal. Members were continuing to do mending at the convalescent homes, Miss Banks said, ‘and would do so in future as occasions arose. After the business meeting, a programme of pictures—-some from the Department of Health, some of the opening ceremony of the home, and many taken by Mrs W. S. Mac Gibbon —was greatly enjoyed.
