POSTPONEMENT OF ARMY SERVICE
COMMITTEE’S DECISIONS
An application by R. A. Hartley, a deliverv driver, for postponement of his military service was adjourned for three months when it came before the No. 14 Military Postponements Committee in Christchurch yesterday. It was stated that the applicant’s father was taking over the management of a dairy farm with 90 cows, and relied on his son to help him with the work through the winter. The committee granted the postponement to give the father an opportunity to obtain a replacement for his son. The application of J. H. A. Barber, a university student, for deferment of service on the ground of financial hardship, was adjourned sine die.
The members of the committee are Messrs A. H. Cavell (chairman), R. H. Webb, and J. H. Ward.
