OUTSIZED STRATO-FORTRESS BOMBER MAKES ITS DEBUT.—A 175-ton eight-jet bomber for the United States Air Force leaving the Boeing aircraft plant in Seattle a few days ago. Known as the B-52, the plane has great speed and could be used as a hydrogen bomb carrier. General Nathan Twining, the Air Force Chief of Staff, described the new bomber as “the long rifle of the air age.”
