N.Z. INSTITUTE AWARDS 1 GOLD MEDAL (New Zealand Press Association)

WELLINGTON, March 19. A Wellington architect, Mr James H. Hall Kenney, who designed a group of modern-style industrial buildings for Auckland, has beep ( awarded the New Zealand Institute of Architecture’s gold medal for the best architectural design of the year. * Mr Hall Kenney won the award fot his design of the Auckland Milk Treatment Corporation’s new premises. It is the first time that the institute’s award has been given for the design of an industrial building. Usually the award is made to architects who plan memorials, hostels, or flats. Besides designing the buildings,' Mr Hall Kenney planned the lay-out of the plant. The project took him about a year to plan and design.
