DEATH OF TROTTING OWNER

(New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, March 19. Mr Thomas Murray Gracie, who died at Invercargill today * after a short illness, had been actively connected with trotting in Southland in recent years, and had raced horses with success. Among the horses he raced were Neltod and Ferry Walla. Last year he attended the Inter-Domin-ion Championship meeting at Perth, as a member of the official New Zealand party. He was a steward of the Invercargill Trotting Club, and at the time of his death was the club’s treasurer. One of the foundation members of the Southland Trotting Owners’. Trainers’ and Breeders’ Association, he was one of its first secretaries, and for the last two years had been president of the association. Mr Gracie was born in Glasgow 53 years ago, and came to New Zealand in 1926.
