A fairly keen inquiry persists for immediate delivery of ,new crop seed, and this tends to keep markets firm. There are no quotable price alterations. Some business is offering from Australia, provided seed can be shipped in time to fill the autumn demand, but the shipping outlook could be better. There is no semblance of trade with countries north of the Equator. Quotations to Farmers Quotations for small seeds and various lines of produce are as follows: Wheat.—lls 6d a bushel, Jan., Feb , and March (on rail, grower’s nearest siding), with the usual variety increments, plus the monthly holding increments. Ryegrass (M.D.) —Certified perennial mother seed, 22s a bushel; p.p., 21s; uncertified, 10s. Hl: mother seed, 19s; standard, 18s; uncertified 10s. Italian: mother seed, 16s; standard, 15s; uncertified, 10s. White Clover (M.D.)—Mother seed, 3s 2d per lb; p.p., 3s: uncertified, 2s 6d. Red Clpver f. Cowgrass).—2s 3d per lb. m.d. Cocksfoot, —Is to 2S per lb, certified depending on quality. Oats.—Gartons: 6s 6d to 6s 9d a bushel, according to quality. Algerian: 5s 6d to 5s 9d a bushel; Duns: 9s to 10s a bushel Black: 8s to 9s a bushel. Lupins.—6s to 6s 6d a bushel, on trucks (sacks extra)
