MINOR FIRES
Fire brigade units in Christchurch yesterday attended to five minor fires. No damage was caused when a grass fire occurred near McCormacks Bay road at 10.53 a.m. Two units—one from Woolston and one from Sumner—attended the outbreak. The interior of a caravan at 45 Lionel street was slightly damaged by fire at 11.23 a.m. One unit from the Central Fire Brigade attended the call. The occupier was Mrs Ida Rebecca JacKson. boUer house of Cadbury, Fry, Hudson, at 145 Lichfield street, was put out before any damage was done. The cause was attributed to a spark from the furnace, which landed in some shavings. The alarm was given at 11.24 a.m. A rubbish fire at 46 Bealey avenue was attended to at 2.2 p.m. The occupier of the property is Ethel HenAn oven fire at 29 Lawson street. Sydenham, was put out by one unit from the Sydenham brigade at 5.26 p m The occupier of the dwelling is Mrs E. Diebert.
