SCHOOL PRIZE-GIVING The break-up and prize-giving of the T vttelton West School was held yesterday afternoon, a large number of parents heme present. The prizes were presented bv the M™or (Mr F. G. Briggs), who was assisted by Mr R. Sweet, chairman of the school committee. . The Mavor's citizenship prize for boys was awarded to Mervyn Schenkel, and the Voyce family’s citizenship prize for girls was awarded to Myra Pluck Other prizes presented were:-Page medal Edward Hutana; Parker brooch, Janet SrhenkeT Evans Cup, Christopher Brown-* Fe? e Sumsk7m%dal P Robert Tikao; Samcon Cups for swimming, Peter Katteity, Jennifer Ede; cookery, Myra Pluck, woodwork, Tangi Keith; Dawn Hemsley. Kay Andrews. ZeMaKissen, Janice Pascoe, Jennifer Ede. Myra fiuck. Toys and flags were distributed to the children of the infants department by Santa Claus. •
Gas Holder Repaired One of the Borough Council s two gas holders, which has been out of commission for many years, has been . f>z’fpal^sl- - work including a new loof. The holder is being tested this week, and is expected to be in use next week.
