WRESTLING
N.Z. TEAM MAY VISIT JAPAN (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 30. New Zealand may send a team to compete at the world wrestling championships in Japan next May. Japan has offered to pay 40 per cent, of the New Zealand team’s travelling expenses and all other expenses. Japan expects 500 wrestlers from 50 nations. The Dominion Wrestling Association is anxious to send a team, but considers its first loyalty is to the Empire Games at Vancouver next year. A Dominion-wide scheme to raise the £2OOO needed will probably be launched next week. Mr H. J. Ashby, a member of the New Zealand selection panel, said today that it was hoped to get enough for both teams.
