PIGEON FLYING

CANTERBURY CLUB Tlie Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club flew a two-bird race from Gisborne recently and a yearling championship race from Hastings. In the yearling championship the winning bird, owned by A. Rowe, flew the distance of 354 miles 1385 yards in Bhr 32min 42sec. Results were as follows

Gisborne Pairs.—L. Pither 1, R. Taylor 2, E. Barker 3, A. Stone 4, L. Pither 5, J. Crowther 6, E. Seeker 7, H. Clemens 8. R. Taylor won the nominated bird prize. Hastings Yearling Championship.—A. Rowe, 1217 yards a minute; R. Vance, 1215; N. Stringer, 1210; A. Duffield, 1194; J. Crowther, 1166.9; L. Pither, 1166; J. Howatson, 1160.4; H. Clemens, 1160.39; E. Barker, 1160.35; L. Cooper, 1160.2; R. Taylor, 1160.1; K. Hartland, 1158.

A. Rowe won one nominated bird prize and J. Howatson won -two.
