YACHT FOR PRINCE CHARLES

THREE NAMES SUBMITTED (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. December 2. The name chosen for the P-class yacht being built for Prince Charles as a gift from the Auckland Harbour Board may be “Tui,” “Kiwi,” or “Tiki.” These names are being submitted by the board to the director of the Royal tour (Mr A. G. Harper) for final choice. A silver presentation plate will be fixed to the coaming. The board prefers a design incorporating its seal and the wording, “Presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by the Auckland Harbour Board on the occasion of her arrival in New Zealand on December 23, 1953.” This will go to Mr Harper for approval.
