HILLARY’S VIEW OF CLIMBING
“ No Scientific Or Economic Use ”
COPENHAGEN, Dec 1. The climber of Everest, Sir Edmund Hillary, said on his arrival in Copenhagen today that climbing the highest mountains served no economic or scientific purp'ose, though he believed it might serve as an example to youth. Sir Edmund Hillary, who is lecturing in Scandinavia, said mountain cilmbing was simply a sport, the rewards being many beautiful views, and the satisfaction of reaching the top.
