Lieutenant-Colonel J Brooke-White Deputy-Adjutant General, Army HeadSuarters, Wellington, and Lieutenant I Good, New Zealand Women’s Royal Army Corps, arrived in Christchurch yesterday. While in Christchurch they will discuss army participation in the programmes for the Royal visit to Christchurch and Burnham Military Camp, with officers at Southern Military District.
Mr R. G. Gerard, M.P., told the subexecutive of the Ashburton electorate of the National Party last evening that because of his greatly improved state of health he would submit his name to the party as a candidate for the next election.
Mr V. V. Muzikin arrived in Auckland by flying-boat from Sydney yesterday to join the staff of the Soviet Legation in Wellington. He was accompanied by his wife and young child. —(P.A.)
