RAIN PUTS OUT BUSH FIRES
SYDNEY/ November 24. Steady rain falling in the New Squth Wales north coast areas last night was bringing under control bush fires which have burned for nine days. The fires have burned,out more than 200.000 acres of State forests and private property. , Forestry officers estimate the damage as at least £750,000. They said the rain had stopped the fires from becoming a national catastrophe.
