NEW HONOUR FOR QUEEN

“Master Of Merchant .. Navy” LONDON, November 23. The Queen has assumed the title of “Master of the Merchant Navy *and Fishing Fleets,” it was announced from No. 10 Downing Street today. It is the first time that this title has been held by a Queen. The Press Association’s lobby correspondent siiys it is felt to be particularly fitting that the Queen should take this title on the day she leaves on her tour, most of which will be done in the merchant liner Gothic. The first appointment was in 1928, when the title was conferred upon the Prince of Wales by his father. King George V.
