RANGIORA MILK SUPPLY
CHANGE NEXT YEAR POSSIBLE PASTEURISATION AND BOTTLING It was hoped it would be possible to arrange a bottled, pasteurised milk k supply for Rangiora some time next l " year, said a letter from the actinga director of the Marketing Division, Department of Agriculture (Mr A. H. e Hutt) received at a meeting of the s Rangiora Borough Council last evenin&. £ The letter was in reply to complaints d about the milk delivered in Rangiora and a suggestion that a choice of vene dors would improve the position. L Mr E(utt said that he had visited r Rangiora to investigate the complaint. A bottled, pasteurised supply should 2 eliminate sediment in the milk, which d might or might not be the fault of the e vendors concerned. l " Tight zoning—one vendor to one zone—was essential to ensure economical distribution in an industry sub--0 ject to substantial Government subsidy, Mr Hutt said. There was no reae son why the service given by indi- * vidual vendors under this system « should not be satisfactory in every way.
